April News from the workshop – Living the life you dream of

In January 2021, I completed a vision workshop with Michala Leyland from Wood for the Trees Coaching . She taught me how to visualise a perfect day, visualise what I want to achieve in my personal life and future regarding Semper Hopkins Upholstery & Interiors and how I can balance my time and achieve my dreams without burning out! Michala has helped change my perspective on how to use my time wisely and it is something I am so glad I have done! 2022 is the year I will be focusing on myself more and my family more so we can live the life we dream of.

Seen 2 Bookโ€ฆ

Amongst all of the other plans that have taken place this year, I have had the pleasure of taking part in a book called ‘ โ€˜Seen 2โ€™โ€™ collaborated by Katherine Massey. โ€˜Seen 2โ€™ features 15 stories by 15 female entrepreneurs and I am super excited to be a part of it! It’s an opportunity to share our story and the book proceeds are all for charity. First deadlines have passed and we had to submit our draft of a bio and headshot. It makes it all the more real and I now need to focus on what part of my story I want to share. The book is due to launch in October 2022 look forward to sharing the journey with you.

End of term at pottery classโ€ฆ

As a busy working mum you don’t get a lot of time, you find yourself juggling lots of plates and trying not to run around like a headless chicken. Itโ€™s important to carve out time for your own self care. I started out looking for a new hobby, something that I can do to wind down after a busy day and take my mind off things. I enrolled in a night class in pottery at Cheshire Clay Pottery. I loved the whole experience, getting to learn skills whilst connecting with other people in a creative environment.

However I’m not good at night, I was finding that I was even more tired as I was trying to squeeze something else into an already busy week. So I’ve decided not to enrol in another term this time. As most of you know I turned my hobby of upholstery into my business so Iโ€™ve been looking for a new creative hobby that I can do at home to unwind and take my mind off things. So Iโ€™ve done a bit more research and thinking about what I enjoy. I used to love Art at school and completed it through to GCSE level. Iโ€™ve decided to start an art course and Iโ€™m trying to out on in May at will be starting an Which Craft – Art and Craft Workshops – Creweย

Featured in the Cheshire Magazineโ€ฆ

We were very proud to have a Q&A feature in the March/April edition The Cheshire Magazine. It was part of my business vision in 2022 for Semper Hopkins Upholstery & Interiors to be more visible, and build more relationships and connections.ย  A third of the way through the year and weโ€™ve been on the radio, in local papers & regional glossy magazines. A great start to the year and super proud of our achievements. Thank you to the help of Michelle Ewen & Christian Ewen from Write on Time Ltd.

40th Birthday celebrationsโ€ฆ

As you may have already guessed, I am very much a creative individual. I love learning new things and being able to take the skills that I learn to use them again and again. I have had the pleasure of attending a fused glass workshop at the Forsbrook Studio as an early 40th celebration which I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn a new craft! More exciting birthday plans await in April including getting away for ten days in Spain to carry on the celebrations with my family!

I hope you have enjoyed reading what I have been up to this month! Another month fulfilling achievements, building memories and being eternally grateful for my beautiful family – living the life you dream of.

We would love to hear how you’ve been spending your 2022 so far, what moments are you most proud of?
