Autumn Upholstery Workshop Highlights

We’ve been busy over the last two months having great fun with clients taking part in our Upholstery Workshops in our chapel in Scholar Green, Cheshire. It has been such a refreshing change being more relaxed with COVID restrictions and things are starting to feel a little more normal again! We wanted to share some of the experiences with you from the latest Bench Upholstery workshop, Crate Upholstery Workshop and Stool Workshop.

Bench Upholstery Workshop highlights – September

In September, we hosted one of our Bench Upholstery workshops and what a great day it was. Our clients really enjoyed the experience and left at the end of the day with new skills they can use again, as well as a gorgeous, bespoke upholstered bench for their home.

Look at the Bench below, our client chose their own statement seat fabric to contrast against a velvet olive green fabric for the piping and matching buttons. We think that the fabrics work brilliantly together and will be a great piece for entertaining their guests in our client’s home.

Crate workshop – October

Our Crate Upholstery workshop is our original upholstery workshop and I still love doing it as much as I did when we first launched it. It was great fun to meet more clients and share the enjoyment of getting creative and making something new. From teaching skills such as making buttons, to cutting fabrics and stapling foam- our clients have learnt skills which they can use time and time again for future upholstery projects.

I am thrilled with the outcome of each Upholstered Storage crate which was made in our workshop in Cheshire, and I look forward to finding out where my clients are using the crates for; whether it be a storage crate for shoes in the porch, or a toy box in a bedroom! These versatile crates can be used anywhere in the house and are such a unique piece of furniture knowing you have built it yourself!

Stool workshop October

I was so excited to get started with our brand-new Stool Upholstery Workshop, which we have recently launched. It was so nice to teach clients new skills for new products. From our workshop in Scholar Green, Cheshire, our clients created these beautiful statement stools they were proud to take home.

One of my favourite parts of the workshop is seeing how my clients choose different fabrics and styles and make them completely bespoke to them. It was nice to see my clients choose different leg types and fabrics as it’s a perfect example of how you can tailor the Upholstery piece to your own preference.

We got left a lovely review from Vicki, one on the ladies on our workshop:

“I made a gorgeous stool for my future dressing room, at the stool making workshop, being taught all the techniques along the way. The attention to detail with everything from Emma, with the quality of materials supplied and the teaching throughout the day was outstanding, everything was perfect.  I left feeling confident that I can apply everything that I’ve learned to my own projects. I’ll also be booking into another course to learn more in the future. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting to try it. Thank you 😊”

We’ve designed a range of one and two day upholstery workshops so you can have the same experience as other clients. A fun and creative day out that you can enjoy by yourself or with a group of friends. The courses are designed for complete beginners where you will have a taster in to the world of upholstery and learn about the basic tools and materials needed to upholster a piece of furniture. The workshops are held from our beautiful workshop, a converted Chapel in Scholar Green, a peaceful setting in the Cheshire countryside.
