Cheshire East upholstery business recognised as one of UK’s most exciting firms in #SmallBiz100 national campaign
We’ve been recognised as one of UK’s most exciting firms in #SmallBiz100 national campaign
I’m extremely excited to announce that SEMPER HOPKINS UPHOLSTERY & INTERIORS LIMITED has been selected as one of the UK’s top 100 small businesses by the Small Business Saturday UK #SmallBiz100 🏆😄
Following a nationwide search, we have been selected as part of this year’s SmallBiz100 lineup, which showcases 100 of the most impressive independent businesses from across the nation as part of the countdown to Small Business Saturday on 7 December.
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots non-commercial campaign, which celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ – and to support businesses in their communities. Launched in 2013, the day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year but has an impact that lasts all year round. We will be profiled by the campaign on 1 December as part of the 100-day countdown. You can find out more about it here.
I am delighted we have received this national recognition, thank you so much to all our wonderful clients and supporters,”
I first learned to upholster 10 years ago so I could make furniture for our home. Following the birth of my son Alfie in 2015, and with my dad’s brilliant support, that hobby became a full-time custom design furniture business in 2016 – operating out of a beautiful, converted chapel in Scholar Green.
Those very same premises – Old Kent Green Methodist Chapel – are where we now specialise in leading and facilitating experiential upholstery workshops for business team building events and for individuals wanting to learn upholstery. Our mission is to enhance the wellbeing of clients through the joy of creation.
Supporting the small business community is a huge part of our ethos. So to receive this recognition along with the other 99 small businesses, who are all working to make a positive impact, is unbelievable, and I couldn’t be prouder!
Our team building workshops offer businesses a unique opportunity to tap into their creative potential, build confidence and strengthen connections in a mindful setting beyond their usual work environment.
In partnership with the charity Cheshire Connect, we have committed to offer free workshop places to more than 60 micro charity owners in the county. Furthermore, up to 70% of our raw materials and services are sourced locally – from food suppliers and timber merchants to support services such as our website designer and accountant.”
Thank you to all of our wonderful clients and supporters!!
We will come to you soon with more news on how we will be involved in the campaign.
