A Welcoming Change in a Busy Life
Gill Fox, a dedicated mother and director of the bustling Nantwich Clinic, recently joined us for a series of creative workshops. At our upholstery workshop, she embarked on a journey to create a beautiful new bench for the reception area of her health centre. In the midst of her responsibilities, Gill found a much-needed escape, allowing her to focus solely on the creative process.
Mindful Creativity
As Gill reflects on her experience, she emphasises how the entire workshop was a mindful escape from her daily routine. From selecting the perfect fabric to utilising the well-organised tools at hand, every moment was an opportunity to immerse herself in creativity. The vibrant colours and mouthwatering materials were stunning – making it difficult to choose just one combination!
A New Skill and Inspiring Connections
Despite having participated in various craft activities before, Gill had never operated an industrial sewing machine. She found herself thoroughly engrossed in the process, with time flying by as she learned new skills and techniques. One of the highlights of her day was connecting with other participants in our inspiring and beautiful space. The workshop, set in a charming converted chapel, added an extra layer of tranquility to the experience.
A Transformative Experience
By the end of the day, I felt both calmer and happier, as I stepped away from my usual routine and immersed myself in something purely enjoyable. The workshop gave me more than I expected – reminding me of the importance of taking time for myself. It was a much-needed opportunity for relaxation and creative expression.
