A Day of Furniture Making and Skill-Building in an Upholstery Workshop in Cheshire
Last Friday, we had the pleasure of hosting a fantastic upholstery workshop that brought together brothers Simon and Mark, along with best friends Amanda and Nicky. This dynamic group spent the day immersed in skill-building and furniture creation, turning their creative visions into stunning, tangible pieces for their homes.
The atmosphere was electric with enthusiasm as everyone carefully selected fabric colors and design features, ensuring that each piece would perfectly complement their unique living spaces. Nicky had chosen her piece to go in her living room, choosing a luxurious grey velvet to complement the decor. Simon chose a stunning dark blue to complement the curtains in his living room, adding a splash of colour with the mustard buttons. The results from the Upholstery Workshop
One of the most rewarding aspects of our workshops is witnessing the transformation that occurs not just in the furniture but also in the participants themselves. As the day progressed, it became clear that this experience was about much more than just crafting furniture. Participants left with more than just beautifully made pieces; they walked away with a renewed sense of creativity and confidence that they had not anticipated.
Before and after the workshop, we asked participants to rate their creativity and confidence on a scale of 1 to 10. The feedback was astonishing! Across the board, our participants reported an impressive 42% boost in their perception of creativity and an incredible 83% increase in confidence. Many who initially described themselves as amateurs or novices transformed into individuals who felt “skilled and inspired.” This newfound confidence, coupled with motivation, encouraged them to take on more projects in the future.
