Top Tips on What You Physically Need to Start Upholstery as a Hobby?
You may never have considered upholstery as a hobby because you thought it was out of reach. I’m going to share with you what you need to get you started and it’s surprisingly not as much as you think!
You Need a Space to Work
Do you have visions of needing a garage, a big work shed or space to complete an upholstery project?
The answer is no… it does make life easier to have a permanent space to carry out your project from but you don’t need to. Especially if you only do the odd piece here and there.
You need an area to work in as big as the project. I started my first upholstery projects from this very kitchen table. I still find the odd staple stuck down the wooden gaps!
I’ve also stripped a sofa in the room that it was positioned in. So what I’m trying to say is anything is possible. A lovely workroom would be perfect but it’s not practical for everyone.
