Group Workshops in Cheshire: Creative Experiences to Share

Precious time together — creating more than just something to take home

The older I get, the less I want material things.

What I value more now is time. Proper time. Time together with the people who matter. Time where you’re not distracted, not rushing, not thinking about what’s next. Just being present.

It’s those moments that stay with you.

Not something quickly captured in a photo and forgotten about, but something you were fully part of. Something you remember how it felt.

That’s what I see happen in the workshops.

People don’t just come to learn a skill or make something for their home. They come to spend time together, to step away from everything else, and to do something different.

I wanted to share a couple of recent stories, because they capture this far better than I can explain it.

Time together: Shiralee, her daughter and her best friend

Shiralee came to the workshop with her daughter and her best friend.

Three people, different relationships, one shared experience.

They weren’t there because they needed a piece of furniture or had a specific project in mind. They came because they wanted to spend time together and do something creative, something that felt a bit different from the usual.

From the moment they arrived, there was a sense of ease. No pressure to get things perfect, no expectation to already know what they were doing. Just the space to learn, talk, and enjoy the process.

As the day went on, they each created something for their homes, choosing fabrics and styles that reflected their own spaces. But the real value wasn’t just in what they made.

It was in the time they spent side by side.

Talking, laughing, learning something new together.

A different kind of day: Kate and Penny

Kate and Penny came for a different reason.

They weren’t marking an occasion or buying a gift. They simply wanted time out. Time away from work, from responsibilities, from the constant pace of day-to-day life.

A chance to do something for themselves.

And that’s often what people don’t realise they need until they actually take it.

The space to slow down.
To focus on something with their hands.
To switch off from everything else.

By the end of the workshop, they had both created something they were proud of. But more importantly, they had taken that time.

Time that so easily gets pushed aside.

Learning something new — together: Yvonne and Chloe

Yvonne and Chloe joined us for a workshop as a birthday gift.

A day set aside to spend time together and try something new.

They came with no previous experience, just a willingness to have a go and enjoy the day.

As the workshop progressed, they learnt new techniques step by step, building confidence as they went. By the end of the day, they had both created their own footstools, choosing fabrics that worked for their homes and their style.

But what stood out most was the experience they shared.

Working alongside each other. Supporting each other. Seeing what they were capable of creating.

After the workshop, Yvonne shared:

“Emma’s workshops are always great. She takes the time to break everything down into bite-size pieces before moving on, so that everyone can succeed. Highly recommend any of her workshops.”

They loved it so much, they came back again.

What people often think before they come

One of the most common things we hear is:

“I’m not creative.”
“I wouldn’t know where to start.”
“I’ve never done anything like this before.”

And it’s completely understandable.

But the workshops are designed to remove that pressure completely.

You don’t need experience.
You don’t need tools.
You don’t need to get it right.

You just need to be willing to have a go.

Everything else is guided.

How the workshops work

We’ve made this really simple.

I know from experience that organising something like this can feel like another thing on the list — and the last thing you want is for it to feel complicated.

All you need to do is:

→ Choose your workshop
→ Confirm the number of people
→ Pick a date

And we take care of everything else.

We’ll come back to your enquiry within 48 hours, and from there it’s all taken care of.

When you arrive, everything is ready for you.

All materials, tools and fabrics are included. There’s nothing to bring, nothing to prepare, and nothing to think about in advance.

You can just turn up, settle in, and enjoy the experience.

The workshops are run in small groups, so there’s plenty of support and space to work at your own pace. Everything is broken down step by step, so even if you’ve never done anything like this before, it feels completely manageable.

You’ll also leave with a workbook, so you don’t need to worry about remembering everything on the day.

Choosing the right workshop

There are a few different options, depending on what you’re looking for.

Some people come with something specific in mind for their home. Others are simply looking for a different kind of day — something creative, something hands-on, something they can do on their own or with someone else.

To keep it simple, you can choose from:

→ Leather belts – £125
→ Upholstered noticeboards – £125
→ Crate, stool or footstool – £215

Each one gives you the same experience — time to step away, learn something new, and create something you’ll actually use.

You don’t need to have done anything like this before.

You just need to be willing to have a go.
